About the volume

This volume collects 181 contributions presented at the 6th REN International Conference (Naples and Ischia, 4–6 September 2026). It explores how artificial intelligence is reshaping the relational and emotional dimensions of education: from the ontology of care and the simulation of empathy to social robotics and socio-emotional inclusion, generative AI and narratives of the self, emotionally aware hybrid learning environments, digital affective literacy and citizenship, teacher education between the “Frankenstein Complex” and the D-Generation, and kinesiology and sport between education and performance. Across theoretical essays, empirical studies and reviews, the contributions converge on a shared question: how to design an education in which technology amplifies, rather than replaces, the human capacity for relationship.

Keywords: affective education; artificial intelligence; digital affective literacy; teacher education; inclusion; social robotics; physical education
