Abstract
The study investigates the perceptions of a thousand future support teachers towards Artificial Intelligence. Through a quantitative survey conducted by administering the GAAIS questionnaire, the balance between instrumental acceptance andthe “Frankenstein complex” is analyzed. The aim is to examine the tension between perceived usefulness of AI and resistance to its use. The research findings reveal a “critical trust” in AI: although recognized as a scaffolding tool for innovative teaching, it is perceived as a resource at the service of teaching professionalism. Participants reaffirm the centrality of professional autonomy and the educational relationship. The contribution emphasizes the need for training models capable of integrating AI as a support for teaching practice while maintaining the ethical essence of the teaching function.
